I’ve over 30 years of broad and targeted experience in the local government, public transport, education and voluntary sectors across a range of projects and business as usual services. I’m a tenacious, organised and experienced professional with a strong eye for detail and an understanding of the wider world in which professional PR practice operates.
My skills and experience cover a wide range of areas, including corporate communications, crisis communications, copywriting & press releases, proofreading, reputation management, stakeholder engagement, digital communications, media relations, public affairs, event management, strategic communications planning, brand & corporate identity management, marketing communications and internal communications.
I’ve worked on projects as diverse as rail stations and franchises to volunteering with a top-flight women’s football club and an Air Cadets squadron, and represented organisations externally at all levels. Read more about my career highlights.
I’ve also worked in taxonomy & metadata management, built websites with WordPress, HTML, CSS, created maps using php & MySQL, taken photographs and shot & edited videos. I’m fluent in (and have taught) Microsoft Office and created publications with Adobe InDesign.
I’m a Fellow and Chartered PR Practitioner of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), and a former Trustee of iprovision, the CIPR’s benevolent fund.
I’m also a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (Cilip), and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
